To source completely assembled clamping units for attaching PCB's to mother boards in a defence application.
WHY MICRO METALSMITHS:
Micro Metalsmiths had all the skills available to meet BAe's needs. It was already supplying several cast,
machined and plated components for this assembly.
BAe found that buying items from several sources was expensive; and reordering was time-consuming and hard to co-ordinate.
Micro Metalsmiths offered to supply assembled and finished components. This allowed BAe to reduce by 90% the number of items to be
stored and inspected.
Buyers from BAe now spend less time obtaining parts and service engineers spend less time fitting replacement units in the field.
