REQIREMENT:
Bilsom Sentry, in introducing a new range of safety helmets with built-in breathing apparatus, were seeking
to reduce their dependence on machined and brazed assemblies.
WHY MICRO METALSMITHS:
Micro Metalsmiths worked with the customer's designers to redraw the unit as an investment casting with minimal
machining. As a bonus, the weight of the component was reduced by 40% and the unit was supplied machined, plated
and vacuum impregnated ready for assembly thereby further reducing the customer's in-house handling cost.
