Corrugated low pass filters offer high rejection over a limited stopband range, with extremely low passband insertion loss. The stopband is reflective and power handling is high.
These units finde extensive use in transmitter rejection applications, harmonic control and image suppression in radar and communications systems. Two or more units with different cutoff frequencies can be cascaded to extend the stopband upwards and form a bandpass filter assembly with very low loss and broad bandwidth.
Construction is normally in aluminium alloy, copper plate do or iridite finished in internally. For higher higher frequencies solid copper construction is recommended for best possible performance. Units can be supplied flanged or fitted with coaxial connectors as required.
